Virtual Recall Software Support Engineer – Bilingual EN/Japanese


Category Manager

Role Summary

  • Reporting to the Regional Category Lead of Global External Supply (GES), the Category Manager is responsible for the operational, financial performance and strategic value of a portfolio of contract manufacturers (CMO) and strategic suppliers.
  • The Category Manager will lead a cross functional team operating within a Virtual Plant Team model (VPT), working closely with all enabling functions (e.g. quality, supply chain, finance, technical) to deliver on performance targets ensuring full adherence to quality, supply and financial performance and improvements.
  • The role includes responsibility for oversight of new product introduction and launch as well as continuous improvement initiatives and business continuity.
  • Maintaining and building relationships with our key stakeholders and supplier network including dispute resolution, problem solving and developing commercial solutions are key operational activities of the Category Manager.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leading a cross functional Virtual Plant Team (VPT) to execute against score card metrics, on Supply, Quality, Safety and Cost of Goods.
  • Develop and build relationships with suppliers
  • Supply, Quality and Financial Performance against metrics
  • Sourcing activities and due diligence
  • Support or lead projects to scope, timeline and budget
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Stakeholder management
  • Lead contract and pricing negotiations.
  • Contract adherence (both parties)
  • Escalation point for issues between CMO and Zoetis.
  • Lead Business Review meetings between Zoetis and Third Parties

    Financial Accountability
    Responsible for portfolio P&L, operational procurement activities and cost improvement delivery such as PPV, MUV, Expenses and inventory.

Candidate Requirements


Bachelor/Masterʼs Degree (Required): Engineering/Operations/Supply Chain Management (Preferred)
Procurement Qualification and/or Professional Chartered Status (e.g. CIPS) (Preferred)
Project Management Qualification (e.g. Prince2) (Preferred)
Lean Six Sigma experience ‒ Green Belt (Preferred)
Proficient in Japanese and English language (Required)


Proven world class supply operational delivery track record (Required)
At least 3 years Procurement experience and value delivery track record (Preferred)
Proven contractual and commercial experience (Required)
At least 5 yearsʼ experience in Operations and / or Procurement in Human/Animal Health industry (Required).

Technical Skills

Experience in managing third party relationships and COGs in APAC region
Coach and direct virtual plant team to achieve and exceed business targets
High degree of self-motivation
Understanding of Pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
Senior level presentation and stakeholder experience
Supply chain management
Understands the importance of building and sustaining positive relationships internally and externally
Ability to represent Zoetis externally and mirror the cultural expectations
Experience in negotiating supply agreements
Contractual awareness required for supply and business development
Ensuring adherence to process and compliance requirements.
Understanding of regulatory and quality environment with pharma industry
Experienced in data driven decision making as the effective way to excellent problem solving
Ability to manage multiple, complex operational and strategic priorities
Proactive risk management of operations, finance and network change projects
Ability to independently evaluate, assess and initiate action
Recognition of positive and negative impacts of actions, decisions, other market forces on business
Seeks collaboration, resolves conflict and works well with others
Proactively seeks others for feedback, interest; sharing knowledge; inclusion and involvement
Can translate business targets into personal objectives for team members


Physical Position Requirements
Location - Tokyo
Travel as required to fulfill responsibilities (typically 20%)

Job Purpose

Software Support Engineer provides first line contact for our customers for all the incoming communication. They install Virtual Recall software systems on varied networks and hardware, train staff within veterinary practices on how to make the best use of Virtual Recall software and respond to any issues, questions or queries from Virtual Recall customers.

Core Responsibilities

  • You will provide a first line of contact and response for all incoming support calls and emails from Virtual Recall customers in both English and Japanese.
  • You will install software systems on varied networks and hardware and train staff within veterinary practices on how to make the best use of Virtual Recall software. All installations and training are carried out remotely from our Guildford office.
  • You will send communications on behalf of practices, to educate/inform pet owners of important information.
  • You will be responsible for proactively monitoring and actioning Alerts for practices in your region
  • You will be responsible for creating and maintaining articles on the Support WIKI/Sharepoint Documentation site
  • You will assist the UK team in translating various documents and/or customer communications and training material

Training & Qualifications

  • Good IT skills
  • Proficiency in SQL, HTML and CSS would be of great advantage
  • Previous experience of working within the animal/health veterinary industry would be beneficial
  • Fluency in other languages, would be ideal

ソフトウェアサポートエンジニアは、バーチャルリコール サービスに関しての社外からの問い合わせなど、お客様の最初の窓口となります。お客様のネットワークやハードウェアにバーチャルリコールソフトウェアシステムをインストールし、バーチャルリコールソフトウェアを最大限に活用する方法について、動物病院内で取扱い方など、病院内でのスタッフに教育を提供するなど、Virtual Recallをお客様(動物病院の獣医師やIT担当スタッフ)が十二分に活用できるようサポートします。その一環で、お客様からの問題、質問、質問に対応します。


  • Virtual Recall のお客様からの電話やメールに対して最初の連絡と応答を提供します。お客様とのコミュニケーションは主に日本語で行われます。
  • ソフトウェア システムは、お客様のネットワークやハードウェアにバーチャルリコールソフトウェアシステムをインストールし、バーチャルリコールソフトウェアを最大限に活用する方法について、動物病院内での取扱い方法など、病院内でのスタッフへの教育を提供します。すべてのインストールとトレーニングは、海外のVirtual Recallの拠点であるギルフォードオフィスからリモートで行われます。海外のVirtual Recall teamとのコミュニケーションはすべて英語で行われます。
  • ペットの飼い主に重要な情報を教育/通知するために、獣医がコミュニケーションを送信するシステムのサポートをします。
  • 獣医活動における情報発信などのアラートの継続的なモニターと、それに対応するアクションを担当します。
  • サポートサイトとして準備される WIKI/Sharepoint に記事を作成し、管理します
  • さまざまな文書や顧客のコミュニケーションやトレーニング資料を翻訳するVirtual Recallの英国チームを支援します
